Donna Bing provides the solid rhythm guitar in the band and harmony vocals. When Marc Savoy says "she is a really good rhythm guitar player" and insists she play guitar next to him at a jam, that means something. And, when the music or band require some of her other talents, she can play the triangle, snare drum, keyboard and bass. She loves to dance as much as playing music, often at the same time. She is also the rhythm guitar player for the old-time string band the "Laughing Lizards". Her musical influences are many including having sung and toured with the Houston Symphony Chorus. On Sundays you will find her in the church choir singing either Alto, Tenor, or Melody. Donna is also an active member of the Houston International Folk Dancers and can sing songs in dozens of different languages. Steve and Donna Bing recorded a traditional "creole music" CD with Goldman Thibodeaux, legendary creole accordion player from Lawtell, LA. The CD is entitled Goldman Thibodeaux with Steve & Donna Bing - "French Creole House Dance". It was considered for a Grammy nomination in 2008. This CD is reminiscent of the old creole house dances. As musicians for the folklore dance troupe "Renaissance Cadienne" (www.renaissancecadienne.org), Steve and Donna play traditional Cajun, Zydeco, Acadian, and French folk music for this world-touring stage and theater dance troupe which is based out of Lafayette, La. In the summer of 2010 they toured France with Renaissance Cadienne and performed for two weeks at various festivals and venues.
